Ketoprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for relief of symptoms of arthritis, fever, as an analgesic (pain reliever), especially where there is an inflammatory component, and dysmenorrhea.
Ketoprofen is known to have an antiplatelet effect, though it is relatively mild and short-lived when compared with aspirin or other better-known antiplatelet drugs.
Ketoprofen is a medication used for the management and relief of osteoarthritis symptoms. The brand names of this medication are Orudis, Oruvail, and Actron. Osteoarthritis is a type of arthritis that results due to the linings of the joints breaking down. This medication soothes symptoms of the condition, such as stiffness, tenderness, swelling, and pain. Ketoprofen is also used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, which is an arthritis that comes from the joint linings swelling up. There are both non-prescription and prescription versions of the medication.
