What is  Rifampicin ?

Rifampicin (also known as rifamycin, mepirifamycin, mepirifamycin, Wilforcin, Xandoran, Rifampicin or rimidine, INN: Rifampicin) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic drug belonging to the rifamycin family. It has a strong antibacterial effect against tuberculosis bacilli and is also effective against gram-positive or Gram-negative bacteria and viruses. It is a red or dark red crystalline powder, insoluble in water. It is generally taken orally in capsules or tablets and works synergistically with other anti-tuberculosis drugs to delay the generation of drug-resistant strains.

Function of Rifampicin

Broad-spectrum antibiotics. It has bacteriostatic or bactericidal effect on mycobacterium tuberc
ulosis, gram-positive bacteria and some Gram-cloudy bacteria. It is mainly used for the infectio
n of drug-resistant tuberculosis and drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, and has certain cu
rative effect on leprosy.

Application of Rifampicin
It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, and can enter the cell, it is a full-effec
t bactericidal drug, strong bactericidal power is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, it has a strong bact
ericidal effect on Bacilli bifidus and gram-positive and negative bacteria. It has a broad-spectrum
antibacterial effect as a pharmaceutical intermediate, and has good antibacterial activity against
Gram-positive coccus and tuberculosis bacillus. The antibacterial spectrum is the same as that
of rifampicin.
