Rifampicin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic drug belonging to the rifamycin family. It has a strong antibacterial effect on Mycobacterium tuberculosis, as well as a curative effect on Gram-positive or negative bacteria and viruses. It is red or dark red crystalline powder, insoluble in water. Generally, it is a capsule or tablet oral medicine, and it has a synergistic effect when combined with other anti-tuberculosis drugs and delays the emergence of drug-resistant strains. Mainly used to treat tuberculosis, meningitis and Staphylococcus aureus infections. External use can treat trachoma, etc.

FUNCTION

1. This product is used in combination with other anti-tuberculosis drugs for the initial treatment and retreatment of various tuberculosis, including the treatment of tuberculous meningitis.

2. The product is used in combination with other drugs for the treatment of leprosy and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections.

3. This product can be combined with vancomycin (intravenous) for serious infections caused by methicillin-resistant staphylococci. The combination of rifampicin and erythromycin can be used for serious infections of the genus Legionella.

4. It is used for asymptomatic carriers of Neisseria meningitidis to eliminate Neisseria meningitidis in the nasopharyngeal area; but it is not suitable for the treatment of Neisseria meningitidis infection.
